Andrew Curfman

Andrew Curfman is a dynamic intellectual property attorney with over a decade of experience leading IP litigation, portfolio management, and brand protection strategies. As Head of IP at First Brands Group, Andrew directed a global portfolio of over 3,000 patents and 3,500 trademarks, significantly reducing outside counsel reliance and driving litigation outcomes that delivered substantial value. 

Andrew’s legal career spans high-stakes litigation, patent and trademark prosecution, licensing, and strategic IP counseling across industries including aerospace, blockchain, software, and manufacturing. He has served as first-chair litigator in numerous IP disputes and has trained legal teams on navigating complex IP landscapes. 

A graduate of the University of Akron School of Law with a J.D./LL.M. in Intellectual Property, Andrew is admitted to practice before multiple U.S. District Courts and the Federal Circuit. He is a registered patent attorney with the USPTO and a trusted advisor for companies seeking to align IP with innovation and growth.
